Robertson Timber Engineering in South Queensferry

ROBERTSON Timber Engineering (RTE) has marked a milestone on its work for Lovell Partnerships’ The Crossings development in South Queensferry, after the 200th fabricated timber frame was craned into place.

RTE is designing, supplying and erecting timber framed structures for Lovells at the mixed-tenure site, which comprises 178 houses and 120 apartments.

The milestone was achieved in just 18 months. Each timber frame was custom-built offsite at RTE’s factory in Elgin.

Mike Turner, MD, Robertson Timber Engineering, said, “Delivering to programme, our 200th unit marks an important milestone in our first contract and strong relationship with Lovell. We’re involved in every stage of the process from design through to production and installation, ensuring excellence and reliability at each step. With a wealth of experience in sustainable offsite construction solutions, we’re pleased to support Lovell Partnerships in creating homes that prioritise energy efficiency and provide high quality homes for communities.”

Tony Rankin, MD in Scotland at Lovell Partnerships, added, “At Lovell, we are proud to leverage the financial resilience that comes from being part of the Morgan Sindall Group to enable us to consistently deliver high-quality homes at multiple developments. The 200th timber frame milestone highlights the strength of our partnership with Robertson Timber Engineering. Their precision-engineered solutions, combined with our capacity and capability to deliver at scale, ensures we can continue to deliver energy-efficient homes across Scotland.”

The development is being delivered in partnership by Lovell Partnerships, Sanctuary Scotland, Sigma Capital, the Scottish Government and City of Edinburgh Council.
