GLASGOW-headquartered commercial landscape and groundworks specialist M Squared has reported an annual revenue milestone of c.£10 million as the business celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
M Squared revealed it is now readying itself for a period of ‘significant growth’ and targeting £25 million in revenue by 2027. The company also aims to grow the team to over 125 members and ‘strategic acquisitions’ are currently under consideration.
The firm was founded by current MD Kerr McEwan following his participation in Entrepreneurial Scotland’s Saltire Scholars programme. The business has grown to the point where it now has 95 team members and a track record of delivering high-profile contracts.
Key projects have included the regeneration of Wembley Park, a sensitive restoration project at Cameron House, an expansion and restoration of Motherwell Railway Station, and the opening of Barclays’ Glasgow campus and River Clyde regeneration project. M Squared has been named in the Financial Times’ list of the 1000 Fastest Growing Companies in Europe.
As part of plans to accelerate growth, the business has made key senior hires this year, including the appointment of a new purchasing & logistics manager, Patrick Geraghty.
Kerr McEwan said, “To consistently grow our revenue over the last ten years is not only a fantastic achievement but testament to the incredibly talented team we have assembled. I’m proud to have founded M Squared which now fills a crucial gap in the market for a service-agnostic construction business capable of adapting to the ever-changing market demands.
“With the business now well placed to significantly scale over the coming years, we are determined to achieve a minimum of 25% annual growth rate as we continue to expand our unique offering throughout the UK.”
M Squared’s first employee, Sara McEwan, who recently moved into a new head of growth role, added, “I’ve been fortunate to have a front row seat to the amazing progress the business has made over the last ten years. From being M Squared’s first full-time hire to celebrating the business’ 10th anniversary alongside a team of nearly 100, it’s clear the foundations are firmly in place to continue our incredible growth story.”
