DAVID Wilson Homes has marked the completion of eight new affordable properties in Cambusbarron, Stirling.

The housebuilder launched the fifth phase at its Seven Sisters development, bringing the total number of affordable homes on site to 43. This adds to the 35 homes already handed over earlier this year. The two-bedroom terraced houses, delivered in partnership with Forth Housing Association, were handed over to tenants last week.

This latest phase was made possible through a £6.52 million Scottish Government grant alongside Forth Housing’s own private finance and with the support of Stirling Council. A further five properties are due to be delivered this year for phase six, bringing the total to 48.

David Scott, MD of Barratt and David Wilson Homes West Scotland, said, “As the largest housebuilder in the country, we are dedicated to creating affordable homes that enrich the lives of individuals and families across the region. We are proud to have collaborated with Forth Housing Association to deliver these quality, energy-efficient homes, ensuring residents save money on their energy bills.

“Cambusbarron is a desirable and well-connected location, so it was a pleasure to welcome our new residents as they settled into their homes.”

Sharon Brady-Wardrope, director at Forth Housing Association, added, “The completion of these new homes in Cambusbarron is an important milestone in addressing the need for affordable housing in Stirling and it sets the seal on the association’s redevelopment of this priority regeneration area. While there is still much work to be done in tackling the national housing emergency, these developments signify a positive momentum.

“Our tenants have already settled in well and are delighted with their new homes and the difference it has made to their health and wellbeing, the feedback we have received is testament to this. Together with our partners such as David Wilson Homes, the Scottish Government and Stirling Council, we remain committed to ensuring that everyone has access to a quality, affordable home.”
