City Building signs up to Buy Social Pledge

City Building - Buy Social Pledge

CITY Building (Glasgow) LLP has signed up to the Buy Social Pledge, an initiative that sees businesses use their everyday spending to make a tangible difference to improving social and environmental impact across Scotland’s communities.

The Buy Social Pledge, run by Social Enterprise Scotland, brings together corporate businesses, SMEs, academic institutions, and public sector bodies looking to make a commitment to bring social enterprises into their supply chains. It allows businesses and institutions to harness their purchasing power for good and contribute to positive social change in local communities.

Organisations who sign up commit to fostering inclusive economic growth.

City Building (Glasgow) currently engages with a number of social enterprises to support the delivery of services to customers and clients around recycling, flooring and refurbishment of white goods.

Craig Stevenson, divisional director, operations at City Building (Glasgow) LLP, said, “We are delighted to be one of the first signatories to this very important pledge as we recognise the importance of building sustainable communities.”

Jamie Lawson, strategic partnerships & engagement manager at Social Enterprise Scotland, added, “We are delighted to welcome City Building to the Buy Social Pledge. With their significant contribution to the Scottish economy and their focus on community investment, they are a fantastic example of the type of organisation we need to make this movement thrive. Their commitment shows the potential that business and social enterprises have to work together to create a fairer, more sustainable Scotland.”
