Callendar Park memorial to remember lives lost to Covid-19

A memorial is to be created in Callendar Park to pay tribute to those who lost their lives to Covid-19.

The Remembering Together memorial, in the form of a sculpture, will be a tribute to the collective experience of loss and resilience during the pandemic – and aims to provide a quiet, peaceful space for reflection.

The sculpture, created by artist Caspar J Wilson, has emerged from a series of workshops and stories told across Falkirk, where community members shared their thoughts, memories, and aspirations to create this permanent piece of art.

The initiative forms part of a national programme funded by the Scottish Government, which sees each local authority being awarded £100,000 to create ways of recognising the impact the pandemic had on peoples’ lives.

An unveiling event will take place at the park on November 16 from 12:00.
