SCOTTISH construction consultancy Soben has announced a series of senior promotions following a year of ‘hyper growth’.

The company expects to close the year with a revenue increase of over 40% for 2024, with another record year forecast for 2025. Next year, Soben expects revenue to again exceed 40% and headcount to grow to over 400 worldwide.

The strong performance, particularly in the data centre sector, has been driven by the AI-fuelled expansion of global digital infrastructure. From its Glasgow HQ, Soben has taken on several major data centre developments across Europe and the Americas, as well as continuing its work in life sciences, energy and infrastructure, supporting projects in 43 countries.

The five leadership appointments are all internal promotions.

Joe Cusick has been promoted to the newly created position of group chief operating officer and will oversee Soben’s global service delivery. Since joining Soben in 2021, he has leveraged his 30+ years of industry experience to lead the company’s expansion into the Americas, where Soben now has operations across the US, Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

Colin Smith moves from his role as group financial director to become group chief financial officer. He will have responsibility for managing finance, commercial operations, controls, reporting, and compliance across the group.
