MUIR Group has donated £1,500 – raised from the annual Deer Park Masters Pro-Am event at Deer Park Golf & Country Club – to Simpson Special Care Babies.
The cash will help support the staff of the Simpson Neonatal Unit in Edinburgh to provide care to babies born prematurely or sick.
The winner of the Deer Park Masters with a score of -9 was Thomas Higson, who was presented with the trophy by Muir Group executive chairman, John Muir.
The sun shone on the 400 golfers taking part in the two-day event, which saw amateur golfers play with a professional in a team of four. Next year’s event will take place on August 5-6.
Martin Smith, chief executive of Muir Group, said, “This was another hugely successful event with hundreds of golfers taking part. It was made all the more memorable because we were able to donate £1,500 to the team at Simpson Special Care Babies as part of the event. They do incredible work in supporting families through very difficult circumstances and are a very worthy cause.”
