THE fearless MD of Dumfries-based Aitken Turnbull Architects has completed an epic tandem sky-dive in support of Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).

Alasdair Rankin descended 15,000ft from a twin-engine aircraft high above Peterlee Airfield in Co Durham. The sponsorship funds raised for Alasdair’s momentous sky-dive exceeded his initial £1,500 target for SAMH, with contributions continuing to roll-in towards £2,000.

Aitken Turnbull has raised almost £7,000 for SAMH this year, with the firm also participating in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay and raised funds at their corporate day at Kelso Races.

Alasdair commented, “I relished the opportunity to do this sky dive. It took me way out of my comfort zone, but when we reflect on the fantastic work done by SAMH and how they transform thousands of lives, I was more than delighted to take part.

“My thanks not only to my Aitken Turnbull colleagues for their very inspired suggestion and to the team at Sky-High Sky Diving for their invaluable help on the day, but also to everyone who sponsored me.”
