FOLLOWING the launch of the firm’s first solar offer, Lochmaben-based Russell Roof Tiles is now boosting its output with an improved 480W solar PV panel, described as ‘one of the most powerful on the market’.
The manufacturer of concrete roof tiles and accessories unveiled RussFast Solar in May this year, in response to market growth. With this new, more powerful solar panel, the company claimed RussFast Solar will have one of the highest technical specifications available.
RussFast Solar has been designed to be compatible with all Russell Roof Tiles interlocking tile profiles, and is suitable for both commercial and domestic specification.
Dan Hancox, corporate sustainability and development director, said, “We are dedicated to continuous product improvement and are really pleased to be boosting RussFast Solar already. We have focused on offering a PV system which can be fitted by roofing contractors in a comparable way to traditional concrete roof tiles, with an interlocking system designed for quick and easy installation. The technical dimensions, weight and appearance of the new panel will remain the same, so no change to the installation instructions, just an upgrade for our customers.”
The RussFast Solar system can be laid in a variety of configurations, and sits within the roof covering.
This is the latest strategic investment Russell Roof Tiles has made during its sustainability commitment. The firm announced its NetZero 2040 target over two years ago and has already made steps towards its goals by procuring 100% renewable electricity at all three manufacturing sites. This comes in addition to electrifying most of its mobile plant fleet.
