NATIONAL Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) and Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) have started the recruitment process for a new head of training and education.
The newly created role is tipped to be ‘instrumental’ in shaping the talent and development strategy within the industry, focusing on enhancing academic qualifications and spearheading the digital transformation and expansion of CISRS.
“We are excited to embark on this new chapter with the recruitment of a dedicated head of training and education,” said Clive Dickin, CEO at NASC. “This strategic move underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in scaffolding and access. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in driving forward our educational initiatives and leveraging digital advancements to expand CISRS’s reach and impact.”
The head of training and education will be tasked with developing and implementing ‘robust’ training and educational programmes that meet the highest industry standards. This includes collaborating with educational institutions, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with evolving requirements and best practices leading to the establishment of high-quality academic courses.
Central to the role will be the advancement of CISRS, the scaffolding training scheme. The new appointee will lead efforts to digitise and expand CISRS’s offerings, making training more accessible and responsive to the needs of a diverse workforce. By enhancing the scheme’s digital infrastructure and curriculum, NASC and CISRS aim to empower scaffold professionals with skills and certifications that are recognised globally.
“The head of training and education will drive forward our mission to elevate standards and promote safety across the scaffolding sector,” added Dickin. “Their leadership will be pivotal in shaping the future of training and education within our industry, ensuring that CISRS remains at the forefront of professional development.”
NASC and CISRS are now inviting qualified candidates with a passion for education and a track record of innovation to apply for the role. The recruitment process will prioritise individuals who demonstrate ‘strategic vision, leadership acumen, and a deep understanding of educational frameworks and digital transformation within vocational training’.
