BAM Construction is set to begin work on the build of the new £15 million Templehall Community Hub on behalf of Fife Council.

The hub will be built in the heart of Templehall, where the Argos Centre currently sits, with the local authority explaining that the site will ensure that the library and current community groups do not have to decant during the build.

The new hub will contain a training kitchen where people can learn new schools and food can be prepared by community groups, as well as a café area, computer room, reception area, library, community hall, community spaces, and a multi-use games area.

Kirkcaldy area convenor, councillor Ian Cameron, said, “The new Templehall Community Hub will be a fantastic resource for the whole community. A brand new, modern, purpose built facility, replacing a cluster of ageing, poor quality facilities in the area. The hub will contain a library, training kitchen, community meeting area, computer room, local office facilities, as well as the main hall and various spaces for fitness and leisure activities and a new multi use games area outside.

“This is very much a community resource and we want everyone to feel it belongs to them. That’s why we’d like to see as many people as possible on Thursday evening. It’s the perfect chance to see the plans, hear about how the building work will progress and to ask any questions you might have.”
