NORTH Lanarkshire firms will have the chance to access a series of demonstration sessions on the use of collaborative robots (Cobots) for welding at Smart Hub Lanarkshire later this month.
The sessions will take place on August 30 within the new dedicated demo and test space created at New College Lanarkshire’s Motherwell campus.
Robotic welding is a rapidly growing industry that ensures precise and consistent welds, improves product quality, enhances safety by reducing exposure to heat and fumes, and offers ‘unmatched’ flexibility. Cobots can be easily reprogrammed to adapt to various welding tasks, making them an essential tool for modern manufacturing.
The event will be one of the first demonstrations of the cutting-edge technology in Scotland, with businesses also learning how to programme a welding robot and have the opportunity to try it first-hand in an interactive session.
Smart Hub Lanarkshire has partnered with innovative Finnish and Danish companies Kemppi and Smooth Robotics who are both pioneers in this field. The sessions are also being supported by SP Elements, Scotland’s main supplier of universal robots.
