MAR Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort has secured planning permission from Renfrewshire Council to develop 30 luxury woodland lodges in a project tipped to ‘transform’ the resort’s 240-acre estate.
Work is now set to begin, with completion expected in spring 2025.
The one, two, and four-bedroom lodges will offer a ‘rare blend of rustic elegance and modern comfort’, strategically positioned to capture views of the River Clyde and Kilpatrick Hills. Each lodge will feature a personal entrance, outdoor terrace with a hot tub, and interiors that exude ‘warmth and sophistication’.
The new lodges will add a further initial 48 bedrooms to the resort’s current key count of 70, delivering an enhancement to large corporate and international group bookings, as well as those seeking accommodation for larger events and wedding parties.
By rewilding a forgotten area of the estate, the project aims to breathe new life into the surroundings. Mar Hall’s commitment to the preservation and enhancement of the estate’s natural beauty is said to be at the heart of their renovation works, evident in the introduction of a tranquil bee garden that homes 100,000 bees, the restoration of the historic fountain, and revival of the rose and knot gardens.
The plans come amidst the ongoing multi-million-pound renovation works being led by Align Partners, on behalf of Dutco, to reposition Mar Hall as one of the most luxurious resorts in the country. Most recently, the newly refurbished leisure suite was unveiled including a gym, 20-metre swimming pool with saunas, steam rooms, relaxation space, and an outdoor thermal suite.
Joe Gallacher, general manager at Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, said, “We’re thrilled our proposal for 30 luxurious woodland lodges has been approved by Renfrewshire Council. This marks a major milestone as we continue our journey of transformation across the Resort, to achieve its full luxury potential.
“Creating an exceptional experience for our guests that seamlessly blends our stunning surroundings with the highest standards of luxury is at the core of our plans and we’re delighted that we can now get started on development to bring them to life.”
