CLARK Contracts has donated over 150 items to support local schools ahead of the new academic year.
The haul includes school uniforms, stationery and school bags, suitable for children at various ages and stages of their education.
The donations were made by the Paisley-headquartered contractor’s staff over the summer to Cash for Kids partners, Paisley YMCA and Edinburgh School Uniform Bank, who distributed the supplies.
Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping children that need it most across the UK. Their mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs.
Claire McGinley, youth & programme development manager at Paisley YMCA, said, “We are so grateful for everyone at Clark Contracts’ very kind donations of back-to-school items. Rising costs continue to put pressure on our community and these items will go a long way in supporting local families with the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. From all of us at Paisley YMCA we would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to the team at Clark Contracts for these generous donations, these acts of kindness mean so much!”
Clare Fallas, operations coordinator at Edinburgh School Uniform Bank (ESUB), added, “The generosity of Clark Contracts ensures we can meet the growing demand for school uniforms this summer. These donations play a significant role in helping children feel equal and included among their peers. ESUB is a local charity dedicated to providing school uniforms to families in need, established in 2015. Our annual summer campaign is crucial as it prepares children for the upcoming academic year. Clark Contracts’ contribution includes a wide range of uniform essentials, all designed to help students feel prepared and motivated.”
Gordon Cunningham, MD of Clark Contracts, stated, “We are delighted to have been able to support Cash for Kids with this donation of school supplies. We believe that investing in our community’s future starts with supporting the education of children, therefore, we hope these donations can help provide a positive start to the new school year for pupils and help them reach their full potential.”
