ARRAN Donald from Perth has been announced as the Scottish regional winner of the Heating Installer Awards 2024.
Arran specialises in ground and air source heat pumps with his company IMS Heat Pumps.
The winning project saw him install a hybrid air source heat pump in an 18th-century Georgian country villa in East Lothian. The B-listed property, built in the 1770s, presented unique challenges due to its historical significance.
Arran explained, “This project stood out for us due to its combination of historical significance, technical complexity and commitment to sustainability. Working on a category B-listed property required a high level of expertise and attention to detail to ensure that the installation met stringent preservation regulations while delivering optimal performance.
“So much hard work went into this project. Winning this award means a lot; it’s not just about the technical skills or the green solutions used, but it’s also a nod to our commitment to solving challenges and providing homeowners with efficient and sustainable heating.”
The nationwide awards scheme recognises the achievements and raises the credibility of plumbers and heating installers across the country who deliver excellent customer service on a daily basis. Representatives from the awards’ partners, CIPHE, The IPG, Polypipe Building Products, Refresh, Samsung Climate Solutions and Stelrad – as well as a team of previous winning installers – judged the entries on problem solving, product knowledge and stand out work.
Winners will be announced on 26th June at Installer Show in Birmingham NEC.
