Overnight work sees lift towers installed at Glasgow railway station

NETWORK Rail engineers worked through the night on Saturday (June 15) to install steel lift towers at Anniesland Railway Station in Glasgow.

The 12-metre structures, which feature steel walkways connecting the upper towers to the existing station platforms, come as part of an accessibility project at the station.

During the works, Great Western Road was temporarily reduced to one westbound lane at Anniesland Cross to accommodate the three cranes used to lift the steelwork.
