Fife College students showcase their skills at Rothes Halls

BUILT environment and design students from Fife College have demonstrated their skills, hard work and achievements at their End of Year Show.

Students from courses including architectural technology, quantity surveying and 3D design (interior design & furniture) have been displaying their work at the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes.

An annual tradition, the End of Year Show provides a platform for students to present their projects, creative designs, and technical achievements while also fostering connections with local industry leaders.

HNC 3D design (furniture and product design) student Rebecca Sharp shared her excitement about having her work, which was inspired by Asia, on display as part of the show. Rebecca, from Cupar, said, “I’m very proud to have my work displayed at the exhibition. It’s been a labour of love. Lots of late nights and stressing to try and get it finished. Actually seeing it in a hall and then having family and friends and people come to have a look is really amazing.

“I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do some work experience for a company through the college. Having those contacts and that experience has definitely helped me prepare for a future in this area.”

HNC 3D design (interiors) student Janos Korosi has also displayed his work from throughout the year. Janos, from Kirkcaldy, said, “The course has been life-changing. I wasn’t expecting at the start that it was going to dramatically change my life but the experience I received and the knowledge is beyond my expectation. Thanks to the lecturers because they did a fantastic job.”

“I’m a mature student and I’ve got a reason why I decided to study. My advice is it is never too late. I think if somebody feels that they like challenges and they want to progress, learn skills, then I think the college is one of the best places to go and start something new.”

Karen Colville, design lecturer & academic and quality lead, engineering, science, technology and built environment at Fife College, said, “We are incredibly proud of our built environment and design students and the hard work they have put into their courses throughout the year. This event is a celebration of their achievements and a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with industry leaders who can help them take the next steps in their careers.”
