Work complete on build of new Drumnadrochit homes

THE Highland Council has taken ownership of a number of new homes in the village of Drumnadrochit.

Built by Springfield Properties, the energy efficient homes will be available for social rent, mid-market rent, and low-cost initiative for first time buyers.

A total of 16 properties will accommodate families in a mixture of cottage flats, houses, and bungalows for social rent, whilst three properties are available through the LIFT scheme, and a further four homes for mid-market rent.

Springfield MD for affordable housing, Tom Leggeat, said, “We are really pleased to have worked with The Highland Council to deliver high quality homes in Drumnadrochit. These homes are energy efficient, using innovative heating systems that are better for the environment and help keep running costs low for the residents.”

Councillor Glynis Cambell Sinclair, provost of Inverness and area and housing and property chair at the Highland Council, added, “Drumnadrochit is a lovely village which is nestled on the northern shore of Loch Ness. The new houses are set in front of the dramatic background of nature where people can enjoy a nice walk, all while being a short drive from the city centre. There are also excellent schools in the area who do well to reflect the kind and welcoming community spirit of the village. I wish the future tenants the very best in their new homes.”
