HOUSEBUILDER Story Homes has announced it has raised £44,000 for charity partner, Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
Staff at Story Homes selected CRUK as their charity partner for the 2023/24 financial year. Employees across the business carried out various fundraising activities, ranging from golf days and bake sales, to raffles and dress down days.
£22,000 was raised, which was doubled to £44,000 thanks to CRUK’s ‘Double the Impact’ match-funding scheme.
Story Homes revealed it will continue to support CRUK for a further year.
Nicky McKenna, CRUK relationship manager, said, “We’re deeply grateful and proud to have been selected as Story Homes’ Charity of The Year 2023/2024. The phenomenal donation of £44,000 raised by Story Homes employees will enable Cancer Research UK to make new, life-saving discoveries that will allow us to create more moments with our loved ones.
“The dedication of Story Homes’ employees has really been outstanding, and we’d like to sincerely thank them for their time and kindness. It’s both exciting and promising that Story Homes has selected us, for the third year in a row, to be their charity partner 2024/2025. Their passion and commitment will empower Cancer Research UK to make even more progress, in the coming year, creating a world, where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. Huge thank you for your continued support. Together we are beating cancer.”
Hayley Blair, sales & group marketing director at Story Homes, added, “We are delighted to have raised £44,000 for CRUK which is an extremely worthwhile charity. Cancer is a cause that’s close to many of our hearts as one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime; but by supporting CRUK, the funds that we have raised will help CRUK to carry out our pioneering research to help beat cancer.
“Over the past two years we have made great progress in raising awareness of this awful disease and understanding the impact it has on people’s lives; we are therefore delighted to be continuing our partnership with CRUK for another 12 months.”
