Robertson Construction Northern appoints new MD

Ian Phillips

IAN Phillips has been appointed as the new MD of Robertson Construction Northern following the retirement Frank Reid.

With over three decades of experience in the industry, Ian’s appointment comes six years after he joined the business as operations director.

Robertson revealed that Ian has played an instrumental role in the delivery of many high-profile projects within the region, including the Inverness Justice Centre, the single living accommodation project at Royal Air Force (RAF) Lossiemouth, and developments at The MacAllan.

Ian said, “Robertson Construction Northern is a successful business with a strong customer base and an excellent team. I’m taking on this role at an exciting time for our sector when we are working with our customers to deliver quality projects, while helping them achieve their own net zero targets through decarbonisation and new build programmes.

“The built environment makes a significant contribution to the regional economy, and we will continue to ensure that we are at the fore of innovation, digital technology, and modern methods of construction. Alongside the ongoing satisfaction of our customers, my number one priority is the health and wellbeing of everyone associated with our business.”

Ricky Brown has been appointed operations director at Robertson Construction Northern. Leveraging his experience in leading large-scale projects for Morgan Sindall and Galliford Try, Ricky will support the business in managing its pipeline of work and identifying new opportunities.

Elliot Robertson, CEO of Robertson Group, added, “With a wealth of experience, Ian’s passion and expertise will undoubtedly ensure the ongoing success of our Northern business. Under Ian’s leadership, the team will continue to uphold our commitment of delivering high-quality projects with our customers, people, and local communities at the heart of what we do.

“I extend a warm welcome to Ricky as he joins Team Robertson, bringing with him great expertise of the industry and passion. These two new appointments reinforce our commitment to the Northern business and will ensure its continued success. With a strong forward pipeline secured, Frank Reid retires from the business with our thanks and gratitude for 43 years’ service.”
