Global engineering business acquires Thomas & Adamson

EGIS has announced the strategic acquisition of Thomas & Adamson in what the global firm said will ‘significantly’ enhance its advisory services for clients in the UK and beyond.

Founded in 1935, Edinburgh-headquartered Thomas & Adamson has a team of over 100 staff across the Scottish capital, Glasgow, London, and the Middle East.

The firm delivers cost and project management, building surveying, and principal designer services across all major sectors in the built environment, including commercial, education, sports, and hotels.

Egis’ global advisory team will work closely with Thomas & Adamson to accelerate the growth of its advisory services in the UK and internationally. This collaboration promises to deliver enhanced value to clients by combining Thomas & Adamson’s detailed, localised knowledge and proven track record in the UK with Egis’ ‘extensive’ international experience, the firm added.

Xavier Odolant, director of consulting and operations at Egis in the UK, said, “We are delighted to welcome Thomas & Adamson’s talented team to the Egis family. Our combined expertise will strengthen our UK service offering and deliver on our mission to provide comprehensive, creative, and trusted advisory services to our clients”.

Alastair Wallace, senior partner at Thomas and Adamson, added, “Joining Egis opens up a world of possibilities for Thomas & Adamson. It enables us to engage with larger-scale projects and introduces our clients to a broader spectrum of services, particularly in sustainability and decarbonisation, which are critical in today’s world. We are especially enthusiastic about our role in the development of Egis’s advisory services in the UK and other key markets”.
