MORRISON Community Care Group (CCG) Holdco scored a hat-trick of approvals with their latest project in South Queensferry receiving planning permission last week.
Forming part of a wider 44-hectare masterplan that will include 980 new homes, a primary school and commercial premises on Builyon Road, south of the Queensferry Crossing, the 60-bedroom care home will help support growing demand for elderly care in Edinburgh.
The approval follows approval for two other projects in April, with West Lothian Council approving a 60-bedroom care home and 18 apartments for private sale in Linlithgow, and Glasgow City Council approving a further 58 bed spaces in Anniesland.
All three projects, alongside a fourth in Penicuik, are set to commence on-site within the coming months with each care home supporting the creation of up to 100 jobs, the organisation said.
Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco is a joint venture comprising Morrison Community Care Group and the CCG (Scotland) construction and manufacturing group. The firms operate across the breadth of the country, from land acquisition to full completion, in the delivery of luxury private care homes for elderly people over the age of sixty-five.
Paul Sokhi, of Morrison Community Care Group (MCCG), said, “I am delighted to have secured our third care home in as many weeks with this new development in South Queensferry.
“Forming part of a major, mixed-use masterplan, the development further cements our growth ambitions and our commitment to provide elderly people in the east with the very highest standard of residential care accommodation.
“I give thanks to The City of Edinburgh Council for granting approval as well as the efforts of our construction partner, CCG (Scotland), and design team members Holmes Miller, Cowal Design, Design Me, and CRGP.”
Alongside 60 private ensuite bed spaces, the South Queensferry care home will have a wide range of integrated amenities such as a hair salon, visitor’s café, cinema, dining facilities, and communal gardens. The home will also offer each resident round-the-clock care, including specialist nursing and dementia services, from highly trained staff members.
CCG MD, David Wylie, added, “Morrison Community Care and CCG are passionate about creating high-quality, modern accommodation that addresses the needs of the elderly at every level.
“Our partnership has helped transform the lives of people across the country since 2017 and with two projects currently on-site, our impending construction start in Penicuik, and these hat-trick of approvals, this means that between the summer of 2024 and 2026, we will have delivered over 360 new bed spaces which is an amazing achievement.
“I am thankful for the efforts of Morrison Community Care and our design team and we look forward to commencing construction across our various developments within the coming weeks and months.”
