DM Hall appoints first energy services manager

Billy Thomson

DM Hall has appointed Billy Thomson as its inaugural energy services manager.

In this newly created role, he will spearhead the firm’s initiatives in energy efficiency and sustainability across its portfolio.

DM Hall said harnessing and streamlining processes using new technologies to help commercial clients save energy in their properties is at the heart of the move.

Thomson is described as having ‘extensive UK and overseas experience’ in a variety of sectors. He will lead a team of energy assessors with the aim of delivering an enhanced offering to clients as well as increasing DM Hall’s share of the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) market.

He said, “With the inevitable introduction of the requirement for yet more detailed data from EPCs in both the commercial and residential property markets, my role will be to apply increasingly sophisticated solutions, such as technology-based modelling to reduce error in the measurement of properties and to improve efficiencies and degrees of accuracy. We want to demonstrate to existing and future clients that DM Hall has the skills, ambition and commitment to improve and constantly evolve processes which will result in the most accurate and efficient EPCs.”

John McHugh, managing partner of DM Hall, added, “Billy’s appointment as energy services manager is a game-changer for our firm since it highlights both our commitment to improved energy efficiency for our clients and our determination to grow our market share in this critical part of the commercial property sector. We warmly welcome him to our firm and trust that both he and his growing team of energy assessor colleagues will have a real, positive impact on the fortunes of our commercial clients over the coming months and years.”
