Tilbury Douglas opens door to construction careers in Scotland

TILBURY Douglas has been offering insights into its work in Scotland as part of Open Doors Week 2024.

Open Doors takes visitors behind the site hoardings to showcase the range of careers available in construction.

Tilbury Douglas opened up its Braidhurst Industrial Estate site to local schools and colleges. Pupils from Braidhurst High in Motherwell and Coatbridge-based ASN school Buchanan High visited the North Lanarkshire project and took part in an employability workshop while learning about the day-to-day life on site.

Barry O’Hagan, Scottish regional director for Tilbury Douglas, said, “We were delighted to open our doors to local people as part of Open Doors Week. This is the third year we have taken part, and it was great to see local young people attending.

“We are always looking for new talent interested in getting into the industry and Open Doors was a great way to get those school pupils on site. It was great to see our own Early Years team get involved and engaging with local pupils, giving them a taster of working on a construction site and explaining different routes into the industry.”
