Clark Contracts backs build of Elephant Pump in Africa

CLARK Contracts has sponsored the construction of an Elephant Pump in Africa, which will provide a sustainable supply of fresh drinking water.

As part of the contractor’s investment in AquAid water coolers, used on all of its projects, a donation is made to The Africa Trust, which was founded by AquAid in 2010 with the mission of bringing sustainable solutions to poverty in Africa.

The funds are being used to build Elephant Pumps, a modified version of an age-old Chinese rope pulley system. One of the pumps is currently being installed in Africa on behalf of Clark Contracts and will be a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for the local community.

Gordon Cunningham, MD of Clark Contracts, said, “We are delighted to be able to support such a fantastic initiative. This award-winning technology provides vital resource across Africa, which many of us may take for granted. We look forward to continuing our support of this.”
