Taylor Wimpey showcases its young talent as National Apprentice Week gets underway

TAYLOR Wimpey Scotland is marking National Apprentice Week and Scottish Apprenticeship Week by showcasing some of its latest apprentices in a bid to attract more young people to consider the industry and the potential careers it offers.

Tommy Stirling, production director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said, “We aim to be an inclusive employer investing in apprenticeships and nurturing the next generation of employees – and we would urge other businesses to do so too.”

Brian Henderson, production director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added, “Our apprenticeship, management trainee and graduate programmes offer a structured path into the company to provide the talent that we need to future-proof our business. We would encourage young people to take a look at our industry with fresh eyes.

“Housebuilding offers a wide variety of careers and there’s a breadth of opportunities for young people to discover. Also, through our partnership with Developing the Young Workforce, links with South Lanarkshire College, and forging a new relationship with West College Scotland to support its Level 5 foundation apprenticeship in construction, we are proud to be creating a range of positive outcomes for our young talent and our business.”
