INSITE Group has been announced as the main contractor for the refurbishment of London House in Edinburgh, with the building set to become the new home for the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute.
The Glasgow-headquartered firm was chosen for the project through a competitive tender process, with its track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget, alongside its commitment to using local suppliers and talent ‘resonating strongly’ with the project stakeholders.
The refurbishment will transform London House into a ‘vibrant’ and ‘functional’ space that Insite Group said will reflect the rich cultural heritage of Italy. The project will include extensive interior works, the creation of modern office spaces, cultural exhibition areas, and public reception facilities.
Insite Group will work closely with the Italian authorities and architects to ensure the refurbishment incorporates modern amenities and full accessibility features.
Scott McMillan, MD of Insite Group, said, “We are honoured to be entrusted with the relocation, refurbishment and fit out of the new home for the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute. This project represents a fantastic opportunity to showcase our expertise and contribute to the strengthening of the cultural ties between Scotland and Italy.
“We are committed to delivering a space that is both beautiful and functional, serving as a welcoming hub for the Italian community and a celebration of Italian culture in Edinburgh.”
The refurbishment is expected to begin in February and be completed by July, Insite Group added.
