MODULAR construction specialist Portakabin has celebrated being awarded the ‘Supplier of the Year’ accolade at the Learning Places Scotland event in Glasgow last month.
The firm was recognised for its partnership with West Lothian Council after Portakabin provided additional pupil capacity at Winchburgh and Calderwood Primary Schools and latterly supplied emergency teaching space at St Kentigern’s High. In total, Portakabin provided approximately 3,500m2 of bespoke learning space to support more than 1,200 pupils across three separate schools.
Portakabin delivered classrooms, music rooms and labs, as well as a dining hall, changing rooms and toilet facilities. In addition, the business provided a full turnkey solution including groundworks, data connectivity, fire/intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and compliant steps and ramps.
Lauren Cameron, capital programme & project principal for West Lothian Council, said, “We cannot recommend Portakabin enough, they have truly been remarkable and we look forward to continuing the working relationship with them going forward.”
