Lenzie contractor celebrates completion of ‘unique’ project treble

FLEMING Buildings has recently celebrated the official opening of three unique projects the Lenzie-based contractor has completed across Scotland.

Key members of the business, including director Ronnie Burrows, joined MSP Michael Matheson at the official launch of the Carron View wing at Strathcarron Hospice in Denny.

Fleming delivered a much-needed, self-funded extension to the site, designed to bring enhanced facilities and services to the hospice for the benefit of staff, patients, and visitors.

The extension includes a staff changing area, offices, a meeting room, and a new laundry. By relocating the laundry, the hospice can expand the patients’ kitchen and free up space for other uses, such as creating more rooms to accommodate family members overnight.

In North Lanarkshire, Fleming has been working with Getting Better Together, a community-based charity in Shotts, to deliver the Springhill Community Centre project.

The hub is intended to offer a range of activities for local people including a youth group, adult learning services, social activities for older people, and community health outreach clinics.

Fleming worked with a wide range of stakeholders to bring the group’s dynamic vision to life. As well as being main contractor on the project, sister division Fleming Timber Structures provided the structural solution for the building.

Elsewhere, Fleming was invited to the official opening of Crosshouse Primary School and Communication Centre in East Ayrshire following the completion of a two-storey extension and refurbishment project.

The facility has been identified as a key component of the local authority’s ten-year plan to enhance the local school estate.

The transformation includes a new integrated dining and PE block, additional teaching spaces for both primary school and communication centre use, and dedicated quiet rooms.

Fleming revealed that the existing building underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, while outdoor areas were ‘thoughtfully’ landscaped to promote outdoor learning and play.

The success of this project has been recognised with a shortlisting for the Learning Places Scotland Awards in the Early Learning and Childcare category.

Fleming explained that all three projects demonstrate the firm’s ‘unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in construction, fostering community growth, and leaving a lasting positive impact’.

Director Ronnie Burrows said, “We’re delighted to see these three projects completed successfully. Each of these represents the culmination of hard work, expertise, and a shared vision for a better future.”
