HOMEBUYER Show Scotland (HBSS) has announced the launch of new awards, which are designed to highlight the most important areas of the home-buying process.
The inaugural Homebuyer Awards Scotland will offer property businesses the chance to be recognised in the categories of Green Homebuyer Initiative; Homebuyer Innovation Award; and Homebuyer Experience Award.
The awards will be judged by The Scotsman property editor Kirsty McLuckie and the HBSS steering committee, comprised of experts from across Scotland’s property sector including housebuilders, estate agents, marketing specialists and trade media partners WhatHouse.com.
Matt Colgan, event director of HBSS, said, “These awards are all about the people who really matter – the homebuyers themselves. We were keen to use these spotlight awards as an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the property and housing industry in Scotland to help improve the overall home-buying experience. Be this a pioneering financial product, new initiative which simplifies a sometimes complicated process, or just helping to deliver a really brilliant home-buying journey.
“This is a time that we need to put people first – as ultimately, it is homebuyers who need support and guidance to navigate a more challenging lending and buying market. Sometimes simple, practical improvements to the homebuying process can go a long way to giving confidence to buyers – and help simplify what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming experience.”
The winners will be announced at a drinks reception hosted by Whathouse.com on Friday 19th April, the evening before Homebuyer Show Scotland. The free event, which will be held in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, aims to help buyers find their next home or mortgage.
