CRUDEN Building has completed the latest phase of the East Balornock development in the north of Glasgow, on behalf of Home Group Scotland.
The firm was awarded the £6.5 million contract to develop Phase 6 at the site, creating 35 affordable homes on Broomton Road.
Home Group Scotland and Cruden Building have been working with Glasgow City Council on this development, which forms part of a wider £50 million regeneration of the East Balornock area that is poised to create around 320 new homes overall.
The latest phase of development includes a range of affordable housing including one and two-bedroom flats, two-bedroom bungalows and three and four-bedroom houses.
The properties benefit from solar panels, high performance insulation to floors, walls and ceilings and double glazing throughout. There is also provision for future electric vehicle chargers if required.
The communal areas have been landscaped with a variety of shrubs, heathers and trees, while drying areas, bicycle storage and a children’s play park have all been added.
Steven Simpson, MD of the Cruden Group, said, “We have now constructed four out of the six phases of this transformational housing development. Delivering these new homes continues to build on our portfolio of new affordable and private housing developments across central Scotland and enhances our strong working relationship with Home Group Scotland.
“The end result is this fantastic development of high quality, energy-efficient and affordable homes and we are very much looking forward to working with Home Group on the next phase of regeneration of the vibrant and growing neighbourhood of East Balornock.”
Elaine Galbraith, senior development & delivery manager at Home Group Scotland, added, “We’re really pleased to have completed another phase of our East Balornock estate regeneration programme. It has required us to build and maintain strong working relationships with our partners and stakeholders.
“Every time we get to see our customers moving into their new homes, it makes us so proud of the work that we’re doing. We look forward to continuing our work with Cruden in the future.”
