JOB opportunities in the construction sector are to be offered at next month’s ABZ Works job fair in Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen City Council event, which is being delivered in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, will see employers gather at Aberdeen’s Town House during Challenge Poverty Week to help jobseekers in the city find work.
All of the employers exhibiting, which come from a range of sectors including construction, have live vacancies to offer and will be available to speak to people about the opportunities in their organisation and how to apply.
Aberdeen City Council co-leader, Christian Allard, said, “The ABZ Works jobs fairs regularly attract high calibre employers presenting real opportunities to the people of Aberdeen. It is particularly important during Challenge Poverty Week to recognise that good qualityemployment is a key route out of poverty and that we promote the support available to city residents to access training, education, and employment.
“Payment of at least the Real Living Wage is essential to reduce in-work poverty and the real living wage will be promoted not only to jobseekers attending the jobs fair, but also to employers.”
The ABZ Works Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 4 October in the Town House’s Town and County Hall. It will open at 10am with a quiet session for people with additional support needs, before fully opening at 11am and running until 3pm. Attendees are advised to bring copies of their CVs.
