MCLAUGHLIN & Harvey has brought on board Taziker as structural steelwork refurbishment subcontractor on the restoration of the Granton Gasholder project in Edinburgh.
The B-listed structure was originally used to deliver gas to the capital. Work is now underway to repurpose the gasholder into a waterfront public space, as part of a wider £1.3 billion regeneration of Granton Waterfront.
Chorley-headquartered Taziker’s project scope includes the provision of access, condition led steelwork repairs, surface preparation, and protective coatings.
David Field, regional director Scotland at Taziker, said, “We look forward to delivering this logistically challenging project with our client McLaughlin & Harvey and leaving a lasting legacy for the local community to enjoy this new public space.
“The Taziker team in Scotland are very proud and excited to be playing our part in the transformation of this area of the capital city from a post-industrial brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood.”
Graham Brown, contracts manager at McLaughlin & Harvey, added, “McLaughlin & Harvey is happy to engage Taziker as our structural steelwork refurbishment subcontractor on our Granton Gas Holder project. The refurbished gas holder will be the focal point to an exciting multifunctional public space for the local community to enjoy.”
