CBRE has announced a raft of promotions across its Scottish teams.
The real estate advisor confirmed that Caroline Smillie from the occupier accounts team has been promoted to senior director. Caroline has been advising global occupiers for over 15 years and is based in the Edinburgh office. In her current role, she is focused on supporting a number of financial and professional services clients by providing strategic portfolio advice across all sectors and asset classes.
Iona Lord from the retail team has been promoted to director. Iona has over 20 years’ experience advising occupier clients throughout the UK. In her current role, she is the retained estate lead for a large banking portfolio advising on strategic and lease matters.
Fiona Irving from the property management team has been promoted to director. Fiona has been with CBRE for eight years and is based in the Glasgow office. She has worked in property management for 16 years, focusing primarily on retail and shopping centres. Fiona works closely with Sports Direct Investments as a client services director and is involved in the majority of its investment acquisitions.
Eilidh MacVicar from the operational real estate team has been promoted to senior surveyor. Registered valuer Eilidh, who joined the firm last year, is based in the Edinburgh office and undertakes all aspects of valuation and advisory services within the operational real estate sectors including hotels, pubs and leisure. During her time at CBRE she has also developed experience in healthcare and student accommodation.
In the project management team, three members of staff have been promoted – Alan Maxwell to senior director and both Gordon Black and Kyle Faichney to director.

Angela Lowe has also been appointed as head of offices within the advisory and transactions team and is responsible for its leadership and management across the Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen offices. Angela’s role includes retaining and growing the firm’s positions in all Scottish cities, expanding the local occupier client bases, and growing expertise in areas such as flex space and life sciences.
