CALA Homes (East) has announced the sale of its final property at The Crescent development, located in Edinburgh’s Donaldson’s estate.
Described as the ‘most ambitious project ever undertaken’ by the housebuilder, the final sale marks the conclusion of six years of building and house sales at the famous site.
Designed by Richard Murphy Architects to emulate the design cues of the nearby Georgian crescents, the final design comprises 84 glass-fronted homes, including a £2.5 million penthouse apartment.
The Crescent has become Cala Homes’ most award-winning development, securing a host of UK and Scottish property awards. These include Best Apartment Scheme at the 2019 What House? Awards, Best Showhome at the 2019 Herald Property Awards and Innovation in Design at the 2019 Scottish Home Awards.
Located on the grounds of the former Donaldson’s School, The Crescent sits on 18 acres of parkland.
Philip Hogg, sales and marketing director, Cala Homes (East), said, “The Crescent is truly unique and has provided one-of-a-kind accommodation thanks to its landmark location, innovative design and exceptional finishings. Interest in these exclusive homes was understandably strong, with demand coming from both those already living in Edinburgh as well as buyers from across Scotland and even further afield. It is encouraging to see that the appetite for new homes in Scotland’s capital remains strong.”
