CALA Homes (West) is inviting the local community in Kilbarchan to a second stage public consultation event to learn more about its proposal to develop land near Barrhill Crescent into a residential-led development.

Following a first stage consultation event on 14 June where almost 100 people attended, Cala said it will share further, detailed information about the proposed development that seeks to deliver around 70 new homes.

The event will take place at Kilbarchan Parish Church on 6 September between 3.30pm and 8pm and attendees are encouraged to leave feedback. Feedback forms can be collected from members of the project team on the day.

Cala Homes (West) submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) to Renfrewshire Council in May 2023 and is seeking to develop the currently unused plot of land that sits adjacent to Barrhill Crescent in the south east of the village. The land has been allocated for housing as part of the Local Development Plan.

The proposed housing development will include a mix of private and affordable homes, with ‘ample’ greenspace woven into the masterplan. Current proposals include approximately 70 three, four and five-bedroom homes, and affordable units.

Graham McNeil, land director, Cala Homes (West), said, “We were encouraged by the number of people who attended the first stage consultation event in June, with many people sharing valuable feedback that we have considered and reflected in our proposals. The upcoming event will provide a great opportunity to share more information about the design of the development and importantly, how it will benefit the community.

“We look forward to again welcoming the community on 6 September as we progress with submitting a planning application to Renfrewshire Council in October.”
