New Larkhall housing development complete

A new housing development in Larkhall has reached completion, delivered by Cruden Building in partnership with hub South West Scotland.

Tenants have now moved into the homes in Avon Road, with the development comprising a mix of cottage flats, detached bungalows, mid-terrace, end-terrace and semi-detached houses.

The partnership between Cruden Building and hub South West has already delivered developments at Auldkirk Road, Cambuslang (48 units) and Glengonnar Street, Larkhall (20 units).

The development is part of South Lanarkshire Council’s Home+ Programme, part-funded by a grant from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme.

Michael Ross, chief executive of hub South West, said, “It is fantastic to see tenants move into their new homes. We are proud of the part we have played in delivering these first class houses and look forward to working in partnership with the council in the future to deliver more.”

Colin Kennedy, construction director for Cruden Building, added, “We are delighted to complete another successful development on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council and to see tenants enjoying life in their new homes. The mix of bungalows, flats and houses, will help to meet the varied and changing needs of tenants. The new homes are also extremely energy efficient, making them cost efficient to run.”
