TAYLOR Wimpey West Scotland has announced two new senior appointments to its west Scotland board of directors.

Craig Benson has been named finance director, while Martin Findlay has been confirmed as technical director. They join the team based in the housebuilder’s regional office in Paisley.

Graeme Smith, former finance director, has been promoted to the role of divisional finance director, providing support and oversight for all financial matters for Taylor Wimpey’s four businesses in the north.

Martin Findlay’s background is in consulting engineering, and prior to joining Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, he worked for volume housebuilders including Bellway, Bryant Homes, CALA, George Wimpey and latterly Robertson Homes.

He said, “I’m delighted to have joined such a talented technical team at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland. I am enjoying developing and working with them to provide the most commercially viable solution for our land development opportunities, and to create value engineering through strong leadership within the department and the wider business.”

Craig Benson was formerly head of commercial & operations finance in SSE Distribution. He said, “I am enjoying getting under the skin of housebuilding from a finance perspective – it’s an interesting and dynamic industry to be part of. It’s key that finance is a trusted function within the business and is able to provide specific and useful information to the business to help remain agile in an ever-changing market.”

David Blair, MD for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, commented, “Craig and Martin join our team at an exciting and dynamic time for our business and indeed the wider housebuilding industry. Together they bring a wealth of experience in their respective areas of expertise, and I am confident they will each make a significant contribution to our future growth.

“I’m also extremely pleased that Graeme Smith has moved to a divisional finance position and that we will continue to benefit from his wealth of experience in working with our business.”
