THE Wee House Group has marked a major milestone by celebrating 10 years in business.
The modular housing specialist held a family-friendly birthday bash at its head office in Cumnock, Ayrshire, featuring staff, sub-contractors and their extended families. There was food and drink along with activities including a bouncy castle and archery. Family members and friends had the opportunity to tour the manufacturing facility to find out more about how the company works.
The Wee House Group was founded in 2013 by Jennifer Higgins and her father, Ian Hope, who shared a vision to make custom build accessible anywhere in the UK.
A decade later, the company has a workforce of over 70 direct employees working from their 120,000 sq ft factory at Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock, and has multiple contracts on the go, including delivering 101 affordable modular homes in Shortlees, Kilmarnock for Cunninghame Housing Association.
The Wee House Group now comprises The Wee House Company (bespoke solutions for small sites), Connect Modular (delivering large scale, affordable developments) and Hope South West (groundworks division) and provides a full service from concept design including statutory consents, to the manufacturing of new homes and their completion on-site. Clients range from private individuals to local authorities and housing developers.
Acting CEO Richard Reid said, “We’re delighted to be able to celebrate our 10 years in business with our staff and their families – a fantastic day was had by all. We would like to thank everyone who has supported the business over the last decade – we have come a long way since we started out and we’re excited to see what the next ten years have in store, sharing the journey with our team and those who join us along the way.”
