Maxi Caledonian reports rise in group turnover despite challenging conditions

MAXI Caledonian Ltd has reported ‘another successful trading year’ in its 2022 financial results.

Group turnover grew from £80 million to over £89 million, while pre-tax profit rose from £4 million to over £4.3 million.

Maxi Caledonian Ltd is the ultimate holding company of Maxi Group Ltd, Maxi Haulage Ltd, Maxi Warehousing Ltd, Maxi Construction Ltd and Maxi Construction Management Ltd.

Maxi Construction’s turnover was ‘significantly down’ following delays in new work, but results were said to have remained ‘satisfactory’. Turnover for the year was £13.4 million, described as ‘lower than planned’ but the result of two high value contracts having their start dates delayed. Turnover in the following period is said to have ‘increased significantly’. Pre-tax profit was £847,785 and the balance sheet is described as ‘strong with significant reserves’.

Maxi Haulage recorded a turnover of £75.4 million, and pre-tax profit of £3.6 million, which was impacted by trading conditions due to customer logistic changes, fuel costs and maintenance and vehicle availability. The business retained all major customers but generally their volumes are down. However, ‘significant’ new business ‘more than covered’ this reduction and led to increased turnover in the year.
