MILLER Homes has donated buddy benches and wildflower seeds to a selection of primary schools near its Scotland east developments.

Buddy benches have been sent to Windygoul Primary near Miller Homes’ Winton View development in Tranent; Strathmartine Primary near Strathmartine Park in Angus; Pathhead Primary near Victoria Wynd in Kirkcaldy; and Grange Primary near Kinglass Meadows in Bo’ness.

Pupils are being encouraged to use the bench when they’re feeling lonely in the hopes that it will promote kindness and encourage all children to be more inclusive during playtimes.

Lynsey Brown, regional sales director at Miller Homes Scotland East, said, “We’re so happy to support local schools with this donation and hope the pupils enjoy using the buddy bench as we get into the warmer months. It’s important for us to support the local communities in which we’re building so we were delighted to be able to make these donations to the local schools to hopefully encourage new friendships.”

Mrs Jillian Mellis, head teacher at Pathhead Primary School, added, “We are absolutely delighted with the donation of our new buddy bench from Miller Homes. The children are keen to further develop our playground at Pathhead and this bench is a great place to start, so we are looking forward to positioning it in a sunny spot in our playground. Thank you to Miller Homes for thinking about us, we’re looking forward to working with the homebuilder even more in the future.”
