START-up housebuilder Nova Homes has welcomed Charles Church as a consultant land buyer.

The chartered surveyor has over 30 years’ experience in land acquisitions within the housebuilding industry, working for firms including Mactaggart and Mickel, Avant Homes, Miller Homes and Taylor Wimpey.

Nova Homes explained he has a strong knowledge of land acquisition across Scotland, particularly the central belt, and is experienced in the acquisition process including planning and legal agreements.

Having worked with Mactaggart and Mickel between 2014 and 2020, Charles already has a long-standing relationship with Nova’s non-executive director, Ed Monaghan.

Nova Homes MD, Gordon Cunningham, said, “We are delighted to welcome Charles to the team, and believe his experience in the industry will be extremely beneficial as we seek to identify suitable land for our first developments. We are very much looking forward to growing the team at Nova Homes and developing exciting sites.”

Charles Church commented, “When I spoke with Gordon and Ed, I was excited at the prospect of the opportunity to help Nova, as a new entrant to the market, make an impact, particularly as a time when the housing market could be viewed as quite flat with interest rates rises and the likes, and see this as an opportune time to acquire sites.”

Established earlier this year, Nova Homes’ aim is to deliver ‘thoughtfully designed’ homes, using quality and sustainable materials and premium products.
