GRAHAM has been named as sole strategic alliance member in Scotland on a new Ministry of Defence (MOD) initiative.

The contractor was one of seven businesses appointed by the MOD for its £5.1 billion Defence Estates Optimisation (DEO) portfolio. The DEO is an investment portfolio focused on delivering a better structured, more economical estate that supports military capability and aims to enhance the lived experience of military personnel.

GRAHAM was appointed sole supplier for the regional bundle Scotland and Leuchars Barracks major project package.

The firm has worked with the MOD in Scotland for over 20 years, delivering projects across the country. GRAHAM said the significant value of the contract award will bolster its diverse work pipeline, provide job opportunities, and deliver a range of community benefits.

Gary Holmes, MD for GRAHAM’s Building North region, said, “Becoming the sole strategic alliance member on the Defence Estates Optimisation portfolio in Scotland is testament to our long-standing relationship with the MOD and our excellent delivery record in the defence sector.

“The objective of the MOD’s ambitious change programme is to achieve an affordable and sustainable estate that supports military requirements, and GRAHAM looks forward to working collaboratively to support this vision.”

The other contractors appointed to deliver the DEO work across the UK have been reported as Galliford Try, ISG, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Lendlease and Morgan Sindall.
