Advance team to embark on gruelling charity challenge

A team from Advance Construction Group in Bellshill are preparing to tackle the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

The group will embark on the challenge on June 16, scaling some of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, within just 24 hours.

The team is currently training to tackle England’s Scafell Pike at 3,209 ft, Snowdon in Wales at 3,560 ft, and Ben Nevis in Scotland set at 4,409ft above sea level.

In anticipation of Advance’s fundraising efforts, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity recently welcomed the team for a tour of their facilities, where they were given insight into the different aspects of care and provision that the charity offers.

Michael Toolan, technical manager with Advance Construction Group Scotland and one of the team organisers, said, “We’re so proud of everyone for taking on the Three Peaks Challenge on behalf of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and the huge amount of training that they’ve dedicated to it.

“We’re delighted to support such a worthy cause and the staff and volunteers have been an excellent partner, inviting the team in to see for themselves the ways in which the funds help children in need. We’re grateful to everyone who is donating to this cause and wish the team the best of luck for the challenge.”

The team has set up a Just Giving page and already raised over £7,000 –https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/acs3peaks2023
