Plans unveiled for new Dundee homes

SPRINGFIELD Partnerships has submitted a planning application for 131 new homes along Main Street in Dundee.

The brownfield site has been vacant for years. The proposals are for one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments and houses.

Springfield said the homes will be built with ‘high quality insulation and innovative heating technology’ that doesn’t require gas, reducing the impact on the environment and helping to keep running costs low.

The homes have been designed around a communal area in the centre of the development with open green space and soft landscaping. A number of the homes have been designed specifically for wheelchair users and many of the flats will also feature balconies. Retail spaces are incorporated along the street level.

Springfield Partnerships MD Tom Leggeat said, “We’re pleased to have submitted proposals to inject a new lease of life into a neglected pocket of land in Dundee. Our plans for 131 highly energy efficient and attractive homes will bring housing and business opportunities to the area while generating work for local trades and suppliers. We welcome the Council’s comments in the coming months.”
