JR Group commissions full carbon audit as part of green objectives

THE JR Group has teamed up with its new carbon partner Auditel to help become carbon neutral while strengthening the company’s longer-term objective of reaching net zero.

The Paisley-based contractor has commissioned a full carbon audit of the business.

Project director Andrew Dallas explained, “The JR Group’s aim in commissioning Auditel to undertake a full carbon audit of our business, is to demonstrate that as a business, looking to the future, we are taking the climate crisis seriously. This is the beginning of the process for us of becoming more carbon aware.

“We aim to take on board the findings and reduce our carbon footprint in line with any recommendations. We also plan to bring all lessons learned into all new projects we carry out whilst also bringing along our clients, subs and suppliers on the journey.

“We are a family business with more than 26 years in the field and we are incredibly proud of our heritage which has established an excellent track record built on trust. As a business we are now looking to the future and underpinning this trust with the knowledge that we must consider our commitment to sustainability and the environment to maintain and enhance these strong working relationships moving forward.”

Sean Connaughton, carbon auditor at Auditel added, “We are delighted to be working with The JR Group. They are a market leading building and construction firm in Scotland and now they are once again leading the way on their journey to net zero. We look forward to continuing working with the team and their supply chain to help them achieve an industry recognised standard of carbon neutrality.”
