Harley Haddow launches new energy division to help meet net zero ambitions

HARLEY Haddow has announced the launch of a new energy division due to ‘burgeoning demand’ for net zero services.

The multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy has invested in the new building performance and sustainability (BP&S) division and is actively recruiting to triple the workforce within it by 2024.

The firm revealed it has added additional skillsets to the BP&S team with the inclusion of NABERS assessor accreditations and skills in design for performance modelling, which Harley Haddow said will ensure energy performance modelling aids delivery of energy targets for buildings.

Led by principal building performance engineer Lindsay Adams, who heads the BPS team of representatives in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London, the new division will focus on diversifying skills to meet changing market demands.

Lindsay Adams said, “It is a hugely exciting time as we move forward with our growth plans, and add to our range of skills with our new building performance and sustainability division to meet exceptional demand in this area. With UK government targets of achieving net zero by 2050, and 2045 in Scotland – this is of course, absolutely crucial to get right in the construction industry.

“Bringing our net zero experts together in this way and diversifying our skills to meet market expectations and need through our new division is a great step for us, particularly with ongoing regulatory changes.”
