Glasgow firm secures Elderpark Housing gas contract

CITY Technical Services (UK) has been appointed by Elderpark Housing as its new gas contractor.

The Glasgow-based company took over the contract to service tenants’ boilers, respond to repairs, and carry out gas safety checks on April 1. It has over 20 years’ experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining gas appliances.

David Adam, Elderpark director of maintenance services, said, “We look forward to a partnership which delivers for our tenants, providing a responsive and efficient service which meets their understandably high expectations.”

The appointment came about after Elderpark’s previous contractor Kingdom Gas stopped trading. Another contractor GasSure stepped in and assisted Elderpark with the ongoing gas maintenance contract. During this period, Elderpark undertook a review of its gas servicing policy – at the same time engaging with tenants to assess their views – and began a procurement exercise to have a new gas contractor in place for April.

Following a selection process, City Technical Services (UK) obtained the contract for two years with annual extensions over the next three years – resulting in a potential five-year contract should good customer satisfaction and performance be achieved.

Stuart McKindless, operations director at City Technical Services, added, “We are delighted to have been awarded the gas service and maintenance contract for Elderpark. We look forward to working with the staff of the association and delivering a first class service to tenants.”
