First modules arrive for Stevenston housing development

THE first two amenity bungalows have been delivered to a new six-home modular development in Stevenston, North Ayrshire.

Built offsite by Connect Modular, part of The Wee House Group, the modules arrived on site and were craned into place.

Connect Modular is working with North Ayrshire Council to deliver these affordable, accessible properties. The project is North Ayrshire Council’s second modular housing initiative with Connect Modular.

Stevenston residents have been tracking the progress of the development, including four-year-old Ellis, who visits the site with his mum, where he enjoys watching the diggers, tractors and cranes. Adorned with his hard hat and hi-viz vest, Ellis was on hand to see the homes craned into position.

Richard Reid, acting CEO of Connect Modular, said, “We’re delighted to have delivered the first two houses at this development for North Ayrshire Council. Delivery of the remaining four homes is scheduled over the next few months and we look forward to handing over the houses for occupancy this summer.”

Councillor Tony Gurney, cabinet member for place at North Ayrshire Council, added, “It’s wonderful to see the new homes being erected at Afton Court, Stevenston, bringing further modern and energy-efficient amenity housing to the area. The innovative process to build the homes in Connect Modular’s Ayrshire factory setting before being erected on site shows we are embracing new ways to deliver homes for our residents. And, by assembling the homes off site, it also means less disruption to neighbours.”
