Housebuilder’s staff Wear It Pink to raise funds for breast cancer charity

EMPLOYEES at Dandara Aberdeen recently participated in the Wear It Pink Day to raise £273 in support of research into breast cancer.

The housebuilder took part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help in the battle against the disease, which will affect one in seven women in the UK during their lifetime.

The Dandara team wore pink on October 21, with head of sales and marketing Claire Bathgate whipping up a range of treats for a bake sale in the Stoneywood office. Construction teams joined in the fun on site and tucked into a selection of cakes and biscuits.

Additionally, £50 for every home reserved at the housebuilder’s developments in Aberdeen during October will be donated to the charity.

Kinie Kaur, Wear It Pink manager from Breast Cancer Now, said, “It’s heart-warming to see so many individuals and companies organising fundraising activities for wear it pink day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are so grateful to Dandara for their generous donation to the charity. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is all about coming together to support the many individuals who have fought or are still fighting breast cancer. All of the money raised will go towards our research and life-changing support services.”

Claire Bathgate, head of sales and marketing at Dandara Aberdeen, added, “Sadly too many of us have a friend or family member who has suffered as a result of this terrible disease.  We are quite a small division so it means a lot that everyone put their hands in their pockets to support the charity. It’s great to know that the money will go towards the hugely important research being undertaken which will ultimately lead to lives being saved.”
